I have made a sectorial breakdown of the FTSE100 by market capitalization. This is important if you are looking to make an index trade on the FTSE100 – e.g. if you feel that the general market is going to rise, but that regulation changes Industrial Metals, Oil, Gas and Coal will have a major impact on their sectors. These companies take up 21.8% of the FTSE100 in total so it might affect your risk reward expectations:

Warning
My data could have a discrepancy to the FTSE100 as it is actually weighted by the free float adjusted market value in detail at: https://www.lseg.com/content/dam/ftse-russell/en_us/documents/ground-rules/ftse-uk-index-series-guide-to-calculation.pdf
